I must admit, the grey and cold in Chicago has started to get to me, and has been pretty uninspiring in regards to photographs. I know there is much to see and capture, still...but by March, this born and bred Chicagoan is quite frankly, tired of grey and cold. And more importantly, I have been uninspired. But yesterday I saw buds on a tree, and then I saw the sun hitting the wild grass just off the expressway when the sun was going down and something leaped within my heart. It can be difficult to find the beauty in things in Chicago after many long winter months, but I try. I find moments of color in the grey and so I shoot. It adds to my portfolio, but more importantly it reminds me of something that is even more intangible...hope, beauty and promise. That is why I carry my camera...even on days that seem gloomy and bleak...even during days and months when promise and hope seems fleeting, there is something of beauty. That seed of hope and beauty that carries me through this life. And the fact that I can capture it and share it...well, that makes me happy. Take a look through my portfolio, and hopefully something will make your heart leap too! And be on the look out...my inspiration is slowly building and Spring is upon us! Thank God for that!
